Mary C. Jacob joined Brent Coon & Associates in September of 2014. Her practice has focused on patent litigation in U.S. district courts across the country, as well as strategic IP counseling and licensing. Her experience has involved a wide variety of technologies, including digital signage hardware and software, biometric systems, vehicle and container tracking systems, website synchronization, and database search systems and methodology. She is an attorney that is wholeheartedly devoted to representation of her clients, and she aggressively advocates for the rights of the inventors that she represents. Ms. Jacob attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology and University Honors. She worked in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Texas Medical Branch, assisting with research regarding affective disorders and performing techniques including DNA extraction and analysis, behavioral testing, and stereotaxic microneurosurgical procedures. She then moved into the private biopharmaceutical research sector, conducting behavioral research experiments for the Department of Neurology at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals. Ms. Jacob received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo College of Law, graduating cum laude, receiving writing honors, and receiving highest ranking awards in several courses. Ms. Jacob also worked as a summer associate for Roetzel & Andress in Ohio, focusing her practice on copyright and trademark matters.
