Fatal Motorcycle Crash Results in 2 Deaths
Fatal motorcycle crash results in 2 deaths. An accident involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck has resulted in two deaths. The accident took place last Saturday, October 5. The two vehicles collided on the East 120th Avenue. After the accident, police closed down the Birch Drive and East 120th Avenue.
Very few details of the case have been released by the authorities so far. The accident took place at 8 p.m. on Saturday. The drivers of both the motorcycle and the truck were severely injured and died at the site of the accident.
The names and other details of both drivers are not known so far. The police are also not sure exactly how the collision took place. A team is going to look at the ground evidence and then reconstruct the accident to see how it happened. This team will be able to determine the direction of the vehicles as well as their speed and other factors.
The police are also looking at the possibility of the involvement of drugs and alcohol. A large number of road accidents take place due to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Drug or alcohol use can impair driver judgment and often results in fatal crashes.
Further investigation by the authorities will also help decide the negligent party in this case. In most road accidents, one or more parties may be found negligent if they are in breach of the duty of care they owe other drivers. Speeding, running a red light, DUI are all examples of negligence.
Colorado has a contributory negligence law, which means that negligence is distributed among all the parties involved in a crash. If one vehicle is speeding, for instance, and the other has ran a red light, both will be assigned a percentage of negligence based on their fault.
