BCA's Hurricane Ike Campaign Receives National Award for Excellence

Houston, Tx – April 1st, 2009 – The National law firm of Brent Coon & Associates, was presented with the prestigious 2009 Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Award for its marketing efforts in the category of Best Integrated Legal Campaign. The campaign, entitled I Hate Ike, blended of online and offline tactics utilizing traditional marketing methods (TV, Radio and Newpaper), while incorporating 21st century marketing methods such as interactive online video seminars and traffic generation efforts targeting online social networks.

BCA’s I Hate Ike Campaign targeted victims of Hurricane Ike along the Gulf Coast. Within days of the storm, BCA’s marketing team had a website up and running with vital information on relief efforts and emergency services in addition to providing aid in handling insurance claims and working with contractors. The multi-media campaign was designed to direct consumers to www.ihateike.com where they could ask questions of BCA attorneys (live and on-line) as well as download pertinent documents, share their experiences and photos with others in the community and get information about local town hall meetings in which BCA attorneys would assist them one-on-one.

In addition to the streaming video seminars and town hall meetings, the on-line campaign featured animated banner ads run atop of popular local websites, pay-per-click campaigns, and organic, geo-centric optimization. The off-line campaign featured stylish TV commercials, radio and newspaper ads, yard signs, buttons and other offline mediums all driving consumers to the I Hate Ike website.

Jay Jackson, BCA’s Director of Marketing and said “The IAC Competition has become the Oscars of internet advertising, so to have the I Hate Ike Campaign recognized as being one of the ‘best in show’ is a huge honor for us. From day one, this was more than just about generating a lot of cases. We wanted this campaign to be about helping the victims of Hurricane Ike by providing information and a channel to communicate.”

BCA’s I Hate Ike Campaign is being recognized as the Best Legal Integrated Ad Campaign of 2009 by the Web Marketing Association, the producer of the IAC Awards. Now in its 12th year, the competition has become the premier event for ad agencies, in house marketing groups and internet marketing firms all looking to judge their campaigns against the industry’s best. Other 2009 winners include Verizon Wireless, WALL-E, Walt Disney and Pontiac’s G8 campaign.

“When a hurricane hits, you don’t need to be driving out to find help, especially answers to legal questions”, said Jackson. “The world is changing and it’s now about bringing this information and options to the people who need it…as fast and interactively as possible.
