Houston, Texas Greenway Office
The Greenway office of Brent Coon & Associates in Houston, Texas is the largest of all BCA offices. Management Team Attorney Frank Wathen leads a team of attorneys and staff members whose primary focus is on BCA’s asbestos litigation. Since its office doors opened in 2001, BCA’s Greenway office has served as the primary hub for the entire firm’s asbestos litigation and has been a key player in launching BCA into the upper echelon of the nation’s toxic tort law firms. Greenway’s “Asbestos Team” has gained verdicts or settlements in excess of $100 million dollars for their clients and has cemented its standing among the most powerful law offices in the country.
Mr. Wathen joined BCA in January of 2004. After earning his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, he was admitted to the Texas State Bar in 1985. In addition to his trial experience in asbestos litigation, Mr. Wathen has successfully tried to verdict or handled to conclusion a wide variety of personal injury and civil litigation matters, including products liability, medical malpractice, defective medical devices, construction injuries, premises liability, silicosis, and wrongful termination of a business franchise. A licensed private pilot, Mr. Wathen also has served as lead counsel in air crash litigation. His trial victories include a $1.2 million verdict for the Plaintiffs in James Singley, et ux v. Servomation Corp., et al. in Dallas County, Texas.
Demetria Frank joined BCA in August of 2009. Upon graduation from the University of Texas School of Law, Demetria became an associate with the lawfirm Waters & Kraus, LLP. Prior to joining the firm, she was an Associate Judge with the City of Dallas Municipal Court. Her practice is 100% dedicated to representing plaintiffs affected by asbestos-related diseases.
Reika du Plessis joined Brent Coon & Associates in June 2009. She focuses exclusively on representing clients affected by asbestos-related diseases. During law school, Reika served as Managing Editor of Corporate Counsel Review and received her mediation certificate from the Frank Evans Center for Conflict Resolution. She is also a member of Phi Delta Phi, a honors legal fraternity. Prior to joining the firm, Reika clerked at Heard Robins Cloud Black & Lubel, LLP. on the asbestos docket.
Shae Keefe joined BCA in July of 2009. Ms. Keefe graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida before earning her J.D. from the South Texas College of Law. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Texas Young Lawyers Association, and Houston Young Lawyers Association.
